Q: I need help with EggDrop, who should I contact?

Q: My current location is not correct, how do I change it?
Please make sure you have location services enabled (GPS or wireless networks) in your phone settings. Launch your phone's map app to verifying that your GPS has your current location, then launch EggDrop. If the location is still incorrect, on iOS, click "Help", then "Set Browse Location" to manually set your location. On Android, go to "Browse", then "Map" to manually set your location.
Q: How do I change my location on the profile page?
The location displayed on the profile page is set to the location reported by your phone when you first signed up for EggDrop. If this location is not correct, please go to "Settings", then "Edit Personal Info" to set a different profile location.
Q: How do I change my public profile?
Go to "Settings", then "Edit Personal Info". Don't forget to include a profile picture.
Buying
Q: How do I find an item I want?
There are two ways to search for items using EggDrop. First, you can hit the "Browse" button which will let you find items based on category, photo, or location. You can also search for a specific item by hitting the Search button. In both cases, use the Filter button in the top right corner to sort items by distance, popularity, and time left in the sale.
Q: How do I get more information about an item?
When browsing items you can ask questions about any item you see by clicking Ask a Question. The seller will be notified of your question and should respond promptly. All questions and answers are publicly visible to benefit everyone on EggDrop.
Q: What does "Watching" an item mean?
If you find an item you're interested in, you can bookmark it for quicker access. Just go to the item page and press Watch. That item will show on the Watching list in your private profile. There you can see all the items you are watching. If an item you are watching is sold to another buyer you will be notified.
Q: How do I buy an item I like?
Simply click "Make an Offer", enter your offer amount and a message. The Seller is notified immediately and will accept or decline your offer. To increase the likelihood of an accepted offer, please make the offer at the asking price or at fair market price. We find active communication yields successful transactions. Please use the messaging system to ask questions about the item and include a personalized message with your offer.
Q: What do I do after my offer is accepted?
You will be notified immediately that the offer is accepted by the seller. Please use the built-in private messaging to arrange for the exchange.
Q: What's the WishList and how do I use it?
If you search for an item and no one is currently selling it in your local area, or if you browse items and can't find anything you like, you have the option to add that item to your WishList. We will notify you immediately when someone lists an item on EggDrop that matches your request.
If you change your mind, you can remove items from your WishList by going to your WishList and clicking Edit in the top right hand corner. There you can select the items you're no longer looking for and remove them.
Q: Why doesn't the map on the item list page give me an exact address?
The map gives you a rough idea of location of the item. To protect the privacy of our sellers we do not give the exact address for any sale. Once you buy an item you can coordinate with the seller to find out where to meet and make the purchase exchange.
Q: What is Karma for?
Karma is for giving recognition to your neighbors. After completing an exchange, will have the option to give feedback in the form of karma. If your seller was helpful you can give them Good Neighbor or Life Saver Karma. If they sold you a lemon or flaked, you can let others know that too. Remember that karma is to help let others know what to expect from their neighbors so be honest and be kind.
Q: What is Karma Score?
Karma Score is based on the positive and negative feedback a user receives. Green means a positive reputation. Grey means the user had a few problems. The more positive karma a user receives, the higher the Karma Score.
Q: Can I pay for my item using EggDrop?
No. Once you commit to buy an item, EggDrop allows real time private messaging between you and the seller so you can coordinate pick up and payment. At that point it is between you and the seller to work out payment options.
Selling
Q: How do I sell an item?
Selling on EggDrop is as easy as taking pictures. Press the Sell button. You will be directed to either take a picture of your item or choose a picture from your phone's photo library. Just name the item and set an asking price. We also recommend including a brief description of the item. That's all you need to post your sale!
Q: Can I list multiple items at once?
Yes! Hosting a virtual garage sale is easy when you list multiple items at once. When listing an item you will have the option of turning Selling More Items on. Once you list your first item there will be an option to Sell Another Item. After you've listed all your items you can share and promote them all with one click! This takes the pain out of posting several times to Craigslist, Facebook, or Twitter.
Q: How do I post my item to Facebook, Twitter and/or Craigslist?
After posting your sale you will have the option to promote it. Highlight the icons of the social media site(s) that you wish to post your item to. You can add a personal message to your post if that's your thing. Finally, click Promote It! and EggDrop will post your item(s) and your message to all selected sites.
Q: How do I add more information or images of my item?
When first listing an item, go to Advanced Options to add additional info about the item. If an item is already listed, go to the item page and press Edit Sale to make changes.
Q: How does offer system work?
If a buyer is interested in your item, an offer with a message will be submitted for your review. You can accept/decline the offer. We encourage you to respond in a timely fashion, within 24 hours.
Q: What do I do after I accepted an offer?
Buyer will get notified immediately that his offer is accepted. Please use the built-in private messaging to arrange for the exchange.
Q: What happens when an item doesn't sell?
If your item does not sell in the period you specified (default is 7 days), we'll auto-relist for you. If you turned auto-relist off, you can re-list manually by going to the item page and click Relist.
Q: How does payment work?
When someone commits to buying your item, EggDrop allows real time private messaging between you and the buyer so you can coordinate pick up and payment. At that point it is between you and the buyer to work out payment options. Currently, there is no way to get paid for your item through EggDrop. We do recommend however that you round cash purchases to the nearest dollar to ease the transaction. Discuss your preferences with your buyer.
Q: What is Karma for?

We take safety seriously. We believe people are fundamentally good. We designed EggDrop as a friendly and safe neighborhood marketplace for connecting local buyers and sellers. Here are some of the trust and safety features in EggDrop: user profile, reputation/Karma Score, transaction history, and anonymous real-time messaging system.
Please use common sense precautions to ensure your personal safety. Here are some tips:

- Use the EggDrop messaging system to communicate and coordinate before the exchange.
